Anonymous, 1 hour ago"A"fruit company" that was first to create a reversible connector" Just... more It's so funny that you people only mention how being first is not necessarily the best all while you're all screaming from top of your lungs about all the "first" when it comes to Android devices. LOL much?

this law of a common charging standard must be introduced everywhere

SShock, 6 hours agoA"fruit company" that was first to create a reversible connector and also first to a... more "A"fruit company" that was first to create a reversible connector" Just because it was the first at something, doesn't mean it was the best solution. Lightning still has far lower transfer speeds compared to USB-C and the non reversible microUSB connecter has been far replaced by the C type and still Apple won't adapt that standard. It seems they finally will be forced to do that because the laws are coming for them

Grey Wolf, 7 hours agoThis will be a sad day for the end consumer. Because knowing Apple, they will probably do this... more We dont know, but i really dont think so, maybe Apple will do this, but for Android, i dont believe in this. Another thing is, i had the usb c i think, since 2016 with my old dead and burried Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra and i never ever had even one issue at all... I love it, fast and convincing 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Darknoor, 3 hours agoI said "firsts" I never specified anything reversible. And I never had an issue wit... more USB-A is around because it's much more wide spread, more robust and even repairable. If it's loose, you just readjust the metal spring parts and it'll hold connectors more securely again. You can even jam those thin USB drives under the plastic within connector and it won't complain much other than not work.

rizki1, 7 hours ago long live microUSB I will miss you.,, Your a micro USB....

SShock, 5 hours agoWhich one? I don't remember a SINGLE reversible connector other than Lightning and USB-C.... more I said "firsts" I never specified anything reversible. And I never had an issue with a port that is not reversible. I mean, USB A has and still dominates and it won't fit the first time even if you position it right XD Not a big deal nor a deal breaker.

Grey Wolf, 7 hours agoThis will be a sad day for the end consumer. Because knowing Apple, they will probably do this... more 1) They are already using Type C for the iPads 2) They already support the OPEN Qi wireless charging standard 3) Lightning was introduced when the sucky microUSB was the norm. And to be honest, I still don’t have any devices in regular use that use USB C. My old MacBook is still USB A, my iPhone is Lightning, my budget iPad is still Lightning, and my external drives are USB A. My headphones use the Lightning to headphone jack adapter. It will be annoying for some Apple users, namely those who don’t upgrade their tech to the latest every year. That is why Apple wanted to drawn out this transition for as long as possible (and of course, also because of the money they get from Lightning royalties). Also, Lightning is not an inferior Port, because it is easier to clean with a toothpick and more durable as it doesn’t have that flap. It‘s just proprietary that is the problem.

Darknoor, 6 hours ago If you want firsts the other companies have their own Which one? I don't remember a SINGLE reversible connector other than Lightning and USB-C. Nokia's barrel connectors don't exactly count because they had no data at all. But sure, they were "reversible".

Anonymous, 6 hours agoIt will not. It only good in outdoor when no rain/smog/smoke/snow/fog It will be good in large indoor area like mall, convention center, airport, stadium.

SShock, 6 hours agoA"fruit company" that was first to create a reversible connector and also first to a... more Being the first is good but not always good for standard due to patents at least. People will pay more for these patents in the end. Furthermore, the positive contact plates of USB-C connector is hidden and expose only the ground which is a better design in my opinion. And USB-C is much more durable than micro, so at least we achieved some improvements to previous standard. Evolution done in good direction.

Spanky, 7 hours ago A sad day for the fruit logo company and its anti-consumer policy. The bitten fruit logo* Whoever bit that apple did not finish it for a reason.

SShock, 6 hours agoA"fruit company" that was first to create a reversible connector and also first to a... more phone without charging/usb port is stupid and suicidal.how to recover brick phone when failed update os?

Grey Wolf, 7 hours agoThis will be a sad day for the end consumer. Because knowing Apple, they will probably do this... more It will not. Transfering files over wifi/5g is no near doing same with usb. 1) tons of people do not even have home internet, just mobile data access. 2) mmwave can not even match speeds of usb c 2.0, ley alone 3.2 gen 2 3) even in developed nation like USA, home internet of 20Mbps or slower is so common yet.

Spanky, 7 hours ago A sad day for the fruit logo company and its anti-consumer policy. A"fruit company" that was first to create a reversible connector and also first to actually deploy it mass scale in a single year where USB-C not only came out later, it also required years to be adopted and still isn't fully adopted to this very day. And all I see in the news is everyone whining over said "fruit company" and not a single bleep about companies who still use stupid microUSB in year 2022...

Now samsung and chinese will be forced to drop micro usb, something that should have been done since 2018.

Grey Wolf, 7 hours agoThis will be a sad day for the end consumer. Because knowing Apple, they will probably do this... more Following EU, the type-C charging port is mandated, means it's should exist at least. Furthermore, the rapid charging protocol will be standardized to avoid another waste.

Spanky, 7 hours ago A sad day for the fruit logo company and its anti-consumer policy. This will be a sad day for the end consumer. Because knowing Apple, they will probably do this in their own way. In other words, they will probably remove the charging port altogether and force people to use only wireless charging (of course the chargers for iPhones will be more expensive and propriety to Apple). Taking a step further into pessimism, the other Android manufacturers will see this, will see how Apple is making tons of money from wireless charging, so they will implement it to in future Android phones. So basically, in 3-5 years time, almost all smartphones will be without charging ports (at least the flagship and mid-range ones). But, of course, I am a pessimist, maybe it will not be that bad.

A sad day for the fruit logo company and its anti-consumer policy.
