Restrooms at Kolob Canyons Visitor Center undergoing expansion

SPRINGDALE, Utah — The restrooms at Kolob Canyons Visitor Center on the northwest side of Zion National Park are getting an upgrade, according to the National Park Service.

“The new facilities will double capacity, improve accessibility, and reduce water use,” stated a news release Thursday from the agency.

NPS officials say they hope to finish the project by fall of 2022.

While the restrooms are under construction, visitors will be able to use portable toilets, according to the release.

Services will also continue to be provided at the visitor center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.

“Construction will only happen in the area next to the visitor center.”

NPS officials say they do not anticipate the project will affect the Kolob Canyons Road.
