Free meals for hungry, homeless in Monroe County

Free meals are available to the homeless and the hungry in Monroe County nearly every day of the week. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, all of the dinners are served carryout style at the door.

All meals are free and served at 6 p.m. The meals are pre-packaged in paper bags, plastic foam containers or in plastic wraps.

The following is the schedule of God Works! suppers.

Saturdays: Salvation Army Church, 815 E. First St.

Mondays: Solid Rock Church, 77 Wadsworth St.; St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1690 W. Sterns Road, Temperance.

Tuesdays: St. Paul United Methodist Church, 201 S. Monroe St.

Wednesdays:  Oaks of Righteousness Village, 924 E. Second St.; St. John Lutheran Church, 460 Riley St., Dundee (dine-in or carry-out); First Congregational Church of Christ, 26250 E. Huron River Drive, Flat Rock; Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Ave., Temperance.

Thursdays: Crossroads Church, 6960 Sylvania-Petersburg Road, Ottawa Lake.

Fridays: St. Mary Catholic Church, 151 N. Monroe St.; St. Joseph Church, 8295 Van Aiken St., Ida.
